I had a flickering problem when raytracing shadows which may or may not be
what is happening to you. I made a still life, in which I flew the camera
around it 360 degrees, with the camera targeted at the center object. The
objects were sitting on a marble block that had been beveled. At certain
points during the fly around, the veins in the marble would flicker badly.
I changed the angle of the lighting and the problem went away.
(John Gross) Is there a possibility of a "hairy edge" where a point light
source is hitting a surface exactly parallel and this causes parts to be lit in
some frames, and not lit in others?
The common denominator seems to be rotating the camera and having ray traced
shadows.
